Trips for Taste

It was a complete eye feast seeing all the gourmet sandwiches display from Joe & Dough. All of them seem to be eyeing me “Take me!” and the lady behind the counter was introducing me to their turkey sandwich which was a special for the Christmas season. But after that Starbucks turkey sandwich experience, I was hesitating to trust her. I didn’t know it left a mark on me! So I asked her what their best-sellers are so I could see if there are other interesting options. She pointed me to Ham & Cheese with Sun-dried Tomato and their Bacon Mushroom Melt. So why is this girl pushing me for the turkey? I was thinking maybe she wants me to take the last piece on display (I later found out that they make the sandwiches on the spot when one runs out). But what if the turkey is really good? Then I end up missing it since it’s gonna be gone after Christmas. Anyways I can always go back for the rest of the sandwiches. So I told her “I’ll have the turkey and non-fat latte”.
The world beholds! First bite didn’t disappoint me –up until the last. It was a tasteful of filling: shaved turkey ham on cranberry walnut bread with sliced granny smith apple on a bed of lettuce with cranberry and mustard dressing! Did I forget the thick brie cheese? Ooh! It was really good.
The coffee that I paired it with was great too but ever since I’ve been taking my meds (for PCOS), my taste buds somehow shifted and I haven’t been as fond of coffee as I used to. But really, I think coffee-lovers out there would really like their brew.
